Resident Testimonial
My wife Pauline and I are from Minnesota and have been planning for retirement for the last ten years. Of course, we wanted to move south to avoid the northern winters. We looked at Texas or other Gulf Coast states, but decided to focus our search on Florida. Florida has fantastic weather – a tropical climate – as well as beaches and lots to do. Our only concern was hurricanes which specifically lead us to Central Florida to reduce that risk.
We searched for a home that met our checklist of needs, as new retirees. We also wanted to avoid any pitfalls or unnecessary compromises. We narrowed our search specifically to planned retirement communities and found that Waterside stood out above the rest.
First, it is brand new and very well thought-out. The amenities are first class and the lakefront location is beautiful! The lots are spacious and the curving roads and ponds add to the appeal. Almost all of the lots are private – with the yards facing the perimeter, a pond, or the lake! We got to pick the lot that we wanted and specify a new home to our needs and tastes! We enjoy walking in the neighborhood looking at all of the different models with their front porches.
A brand-new home was very appealing for us. I didn’t want to spend my time in retirement fixing or remodeling a home. As a carpenter, by trade, I understand how well built these new manufactured homes are. At Waterside, the construction quality is the best I have seen. Having an Energy Star home has allowed us to have low utility bills. With the home so well insulated, it is also very quiet.
Our new home is well built and solid. It has so many high-end features that is luxury living. The price point was appealing, but when you add up all of the features, it is a really tremendous value. We realized that we did not have to compromise and now have a beautiful home that was affordable.
The amenity center is state-of-the-art and we enjoy using it. Our favorite things to do are hitting the gym, playing pool, and donating books to the library. We are looking forward to movie nights in the theater. It is wonderful to have a pool and hot tub – that we don’t have to maintain ourselves!
We have our camper trailer stored in the onsite storage lot. As new retirees, we still plan to travel. Having the RV Park next door allows some of our friends to visit and we like the idea of participating in some of the activates there also. We enjoy Downtown Sebring with its shopping, restaurants, history, and race course. We look forward to more residents moving in – so, come down and join us!
